Weak points: interludes that break the flow and lyrics that can be quite problematic.
Conclusion: *The Chronic* isn't perfect, but it is an album with a massive sonic identity. Dre didn't need to be the best MC on the record: his vision as a producer is what ties everything together and makes the project work.

Review #139/1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (in random order) - Dre's production on The Chronic is absolutely flawless, elevating every track to the best it possibly can be. Beyond that it put Snoop on the map, hip hop firmly into the zeitgeist (and the Billboard charts), and is well known for its stone cold Eazy-E dis tracks. The skits are what drag the score down...some hit, some don't. It's still a top 10 rap album ever.

Groundbraking production at the time. Still a west coast classic.
