listening to this was really insightful. i don’t think i’ve ever heard anything like it before. was it my absolute favorite album of all time? no. but i really did enjoy listening to it. i think it was very insightful and i think the songs grew on me the more and more i listened to them, and thats why i’m thankful they’re so long. really good. absolutely recommend. i think i’ll have to come back and re-listen to it because some of these tracks may grow on me. the weird wobbly sort of thing with the vocals is kind of throwing me off but i think on my second listen or maybe even third because wow this was an experience to listen to it may grow on me!

the first song was so so good, but i couldnt find myself to really get into it after the first two songs, for me this might be an album i will have to relisten to a few times before it really clicks, as i want to agree with the hype of this album which i got suggested

david byrne is an absolute genius and mama it is so apparent on this album. one of the funkiest grooviest and most iconic new wave albums of the 80s with the best afro beats inspired sounds. love that they don’t play to the obvious sounds and rhythms. the composition of this album is so multidimensional and abstract and i will never be able to get over it. born under punches is an absolute masterpiece.
