Man... where do I even begin? 🤯 Tory Lanez delivered an amazing album — recorded from prison, using nothing but phone call recordings, after surviving something most people wouldn't walk away from. The quality alone deserves an award 🔥 💿 The album 💿 The engineering & production are refreshing and exciting, packed with beat switches and dope creative choices. Tory's vocals shine throughout — crazy pockets, cadence, flow switches, bars, melodies, infectious vibes. I genuinely enjoyed the entire project. I loved the structure - Disc 1: "Fargo's Revenge" is predominantly rap. Disc 2: "Fargo's Heartbreak" is the R&B side. Tory Lanez sounds like he's having fun making music right now — staying positive and focused despite everything he's going through. You can feel the pain in his voice on several tracks, and his hunger and passion come through on every single one. 👀 Standout moments 👀 "Heartbreak From Cell 210" — raw, personal pain, no filter "The Over Song" — an instant-classic sample and vocal performance that opens Disc 2 perfectly "Penthouse Blue" — a full story arc of lies, betrayal, and heartbreak in one track "9side Bodmon" — non-stop flow-state rapping that closes out Disc 1 at full sprint "Jalen Brunson" — pure hype, celebratory energy front to back Tory is such a versatile artist — he floats effortlessly between singing and rapping, endless flows and melodies, no issue bending genres. He also pays homage to his city, Drake, The Weeknd, Webbie, and 50 Cent throughout, with callbacks and lyric quotes sprinkled in. You can hear "Marvin's Room" by Drake and "The Knowing" by The Weeknd echoing in "I Know Everything," plus a great sample of "People City" by Tommy Ambrose on "Hasty Market // Toronto" making you feel like you're walking the streets of Toronto as the track plays. "Made You Think I Was Gone... But" has been in rotation for me since the first spin — a solid AOTY contender. Even if it doesn't get the recognition it deserves, I'll always appreciate the quality, execution, and passion behind it. 🔢 The score 🔢 This was a tough one to rank, but here's where I landed: 9.5 — Amazing album 👏👏👏 I know I might get some hate for ranking it this high, but: 1. The replay value is some of the best from any rap album in 2026. 2. Tory Lanez floated the entire album, track after track — energy, flows, bars, emotion, versatility non-stop. 3. This album was recorded after Tory survived 7 stab wounds to the back, 4 to the torso, 2 to the head, and 1 to the face — wounds that collapsed both his lungs and put him on a ventilator. He recorded this from prison, over phone calls.... 4. Please re-read 1–3. I don't mind the hate this review might bring... I'm always going to keep it honest and keep it real. If you haven't heard this album yet, I definitely recommend it — it's a vibe!
