I can’t get why people say this is her worst album. it’s so beautifully and tragically written. you can dance and vibe to songs like “get him back!”, “bad idea right?” and then sob during “making the bed”, “lacy” and so on. even though i’m
not her age, it’s like i lived with olivia through this album, especially the sad songs. specially “teenage dream”. the sayings that “it will get better as you get older” really just feels like a stab in the heart when you’re suffering with self image and worth. well done, olivia.

For me, GUTS will always be more of a me album and my personal album, but god she outdid herself with the sad songs on this album. never felt so heartbroken listening to those songs. but also kudos to olivia about the happy love songs! even when some aren’t very happy love songs… but writing love songs are very hard and she nailed it! was worth waiting 3 years!
