this album experience was extremely enjoyable. Jon Brion did an amazing job on polishing up this album, songs like good news are some of Mac’s best songs of all time with his gentle singing and the plucky chords in the background with Mac longing for peace and the weight of his depression, lyrics like “why can’t it just be easy” “why does everybody need me to stay” have brought me to tears more than once including once while listening to the song on this review. Mac, while not known for his great vocal ability singing wise he exceeded everyone’s expectations on every track. Songs like “blue world” bring us back a bit to a more chill laid back rapping with a more upbeat demeanor almost excepting his life and who he is which also makes me emotional at some points in my life even though it’s the more upbeat song on this album. The title track circles is probably the most raw Mac is on the album. On the track Mac sounds like he’s comforting someone or the people listening, telling everyone to “take it one day at a time”. On the song “complicated” Mac is saying how he had such mental clutter and trying to take it one day at a time. I love the futuristic vibe throughout the album which reminds me of kids see ghosts in a way. A track like “hand me downs” is also emotional with Mac saying he doesn’t wanna hand down his bad genes like hand me downs you give a sibling or cousin. Overall this album is an amazing work of art and I don’t think Mac could have given a better send off.

My God, the amount of tears I’ve shed to this album. Jon Brion truly kept Mac in his heart as he finished this album, and the family provided their own sort of closure for the fans when they put Circles out into the world. Rest easy Mac Miller

so powerful yet sensitive. the mac i was familiar with was a rapper, but here he almost completely moves away from it, leaving us with one track mainly incorporating rap. though he wasnt recognized for being a vocalist, i generally loved all of his delivery due to the passionate, honest, and comforting execution. as this is a posthumous work, i would like to give big props to jon brion for not making this overly commerical but true to its post nature. so melancholic but not haunting. rather, a final optimistic epilogue that brought his artistic vision full circle. because i was listening on spotify, i decided to listen (& rate) the 12 tracks that were listed in the original work. this album was a big surprise of 70s elements and aesthetic. it shows macs growth and vulnerability in all aspects. easy to listen, wonderful and closure bringing. special thanks, and so to @Trixrates for rec.

perfect, flawless. It really feels like Swimming's sibling, and that's the best compliment I can give it since Swimming is my favorite Mac album. The whole album is so easy to get lost in. It's calm, relaxing, and just genuinely feels good to listen to from start to finish.
