One of my favourite debut albums out there. This is such a deep album discussing personal topics like his relationship with his father, and general problems like social inequalities, racism and good vs evil. Lupe cooks with his flow on this album but his choruses are poor for most of it, some are great but some really take the song down on the scoreboard, but overall an incredible album

Never been this bored listening to an album

Classic Album. Every song is a ten, only the intro the outro are not bc they are not songs. Production from Pharell and Kanye with Lupe smooth voice works amazing. I have it as a 10, Happy 20th Aniversary of this album

Happy 20th to Food & Liquor. Such a phenomenal album. This is among some of the greatest debut albums of its time like Ilmatic and The College Dropout. It’s even better when you realize that Lupe is still going stronger with recent releases like Samurai and DRILL MUSIC IN ZION.

Amazingly amazing

Really solid album from Lupe. Packed with amazing tracks that really show his talent. Love the jazzy production and heavy lyrics. Definitely recommend

The album has a great concept. it’s fire

I think I need to cry🥲

Great De

great debut album by lupe

What an album this was

This album is great as both a concept and in its execution. It really creates a sense of freedom, while also exploring sensitive topics that needed to be addressed societally. The replay value this album has is great as well, and along with The Cool this is my most played Lupe album. Lupe’s flow is smooth, and so backpack rap esc it’s beautiful. There are some weaker tracks that really bring this album down (especially Pressure) and this could be a 9.6-9.8 without them for sure. I’m gonna get flamed for my rating of ‘The Cool’ as well, I understand but I think it’s extremely one dimensional as a track. A lot of these songs have stuck with me for a while, and listening to this album makes me happy every time (as long I skip Pressure)
