Heavy Is The Crown
Heavy Is The Crown
Anderson .Paak Album
An Anderson Paak. and Cordae collab is like peanut butter and jelly, they’re good by themselves. But together, they’re a masterpiece. It’s crazy to see how far this duo has come since 2019. From arguably their best song RNP, to their two songs on The Crossroads, now to an entire album. With the run the two have been on, you may actually think they’re step-brothers. I mean they just have so much chemistry. It’s honestly amazing how they can just keep going verse after verse with each other. The energy on the first 4 tracks makes them all unskippable. Honestly it may just be the best run for songs I’ve heard from Cordae. Then we get to the more slow and calmish tracks which are good but not as good as the first 4. I won’t lie, the beat selection did feel a little repetitive but it’s still enjoyable.

Sounds like it came straight from The Crossroads.

Dude Cordae and Paak flow so well on this but it’s just too short. The way it abruptly ends brings the score down a little for me because I’m so absorbed by the song that I’m just wanting more and more. Still amazing though. I absolutely love the energy.

Demon Days
Demon Days
Gorillaz Album
If you were to tell me that these were the same people who made Gorillaz in 2001, I’d believe you but I’d wonder how in the hell they were able to transform their sound so much in that 5-year hiatus. Demon Days is everything that Self Titled is but with triple the amount of quality. I absolutely enjoy the dystopian feel that the band went for with this album. My favorite moments that demonstrated that dystopian vibe are “Every Planet We Reach Is Dead” and “Kids with Guns”. Both highlight issues from 2005 that actually still impact the world today in 2026. If Demon Days released today, it would still have all its meaning and value due to their approach. Seeing the jump from Self Titled to Demon Days makes me excited for Plastic Beach because it clearly seems like Gorillaz knows how to stay consistent while also remaining different. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in the next review.

Don't Get Lost in Heaven
Don't Get Lost in Heaven
Gorillaz
The gospel choir in the chorus makes it feel like we the listener are already lost in heaven due to the result of the previous track, “Fire Coming Out of the Monkey’s Head”.
