Some would say that Sophie’s artistic approach and talent to music and symbolism of who she is, both as her own self and her own personality, is one of the most beautiful approaches to ever exist. This song is a beautiful, sensual allegory that many, either transgender, gay, or otherwise want to hear from those that they hold so dearly in their lives. Sophie’s re-assurance towards the listener’s true identity, “I think your inside is your best side”, is nothing but the most heart-tugging, gender/sexuality affirming statement that everyone should have the privilege of hearing at least once in their lives.
You, the listener, feel seen. Loved. Heard. Not just for who you are on the outside, but for who you truly are on the inside.
