KATSEYE
another great song on the album! the little gaming sound effects throughout really make this song so cute and fun, it’s not too serious but the sound works so well for KATSEYE. manon’s lower range works perfectly for the verses and the rest of the girls w higher vocals are a great fit for the chorus. their airy vocals make the song sound even more playful. this is top 5 of their discography without a doubt!

one of their best tracks, the best at the time of beautiful chaos’s release! the transition sounds throughout the chorus, and the breaths throughout the track, really embody the idea of being on the run and going m.i.a. this sound works for them, it fits their image and how they portray themselves, and you can tell that this is what they had been wanting the whole time. i also love how free this song is, in terms of choreo and vocals, KATSEYE experiment consistently through this song each time it’s performed live and it’s so obvious how much they love it! lara and manon’s section at the end of the track feels ethereal, the indian-style riff is just incredible and blended w manon chanting “m.i.a, imma imma go” it makes for a beautiful ending. it’s what they really needed to improve their discography

also underrated on the album imo and defo my favourite!! that electric guitar riff throughout the track is just perfect, it meshes perfectly w the short, sharp electronic kicks in the pre-chorus. the chorus as well feels so joyous, bringing in elements of disco, w strings layered on top, it perfectly portrays the feeling of being newly in love and the uncontrollable happiness and excitement that comes from it. it also kind of feels like a k-pop song in a way? overall, this is the perfect way to end the mixtape, w pink falling in love, and i think pink crafted this mixtape w a great story behind it all

well yes! i looove the zara version but the original instrumental cannot be beat!! that short bouncy synth that is present throughout the track makes this song so recognisable and perfect, and the dnb-style drums mesh perfectly with the synths to create a masterpiece of production! the lyrics are also so significant, in some ways, it also feels relatable to the non-american girls who admire the LA lifestyle, falling in love w some famous singer, etc. i think it’s such a cute and fun song, and it’s great to see how much love it’s getting!

my least favourite on the project, pink uses strings in the instrumental once again which i do like, but on her tracks w strings, they tend to feel emptier in terms of the production. i also love the adlibs in the chorus, they feel kind of ethereal and i love when they become a bit stronger/louder when repeated. on the other hand, i’m not a fan of the 2nd verse where she’s just talking, it just feels a bit mismatched to the rest of the song. i feel like it could grow on me, but it’s just not as exciting as the rest of the project.
